Here’s a web cam photo of my handwriting.  This is my 6-list.  A daily list of my priorities.

My Proudest Moment

Being a mom, it seems that there are a lot of proud moments.  It is difficult to think of just one that stands out as my most proud.  There really isn’t just one, but I can think of two.

My first would be when my daughter accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior.  To know that my daughter will be in Heaven with me, is extremely comforting.   She got saved when she was six.  Being scared of water it was a couple of years until she felt like she could get baptized, but she did.  Such a grown up decision to make at such a young age.

My second proud moment would be when my son accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior.  Now both of my babies will be in Heaven with me, praising the Lord.  My son, my baby, has not yet gotten baptized because when we were going to our old church, he was too scared of the water also to be baptized.  But he’s been ready for a year.  I need to get him baptized.

Meaning Behind My Blog Name

I wanted a name that could cover our farm, homeschooling and anything else we wanted it to cover.  I also wanted something biblical, to show our faith.  A facebook friend mentioned to me the verse about spiritual fruit.  I looked it up, in Galations, and thought about it for a while.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance against such there is no law.

This is definitely what I want to come away with when we are done with homeschooling!  I thought about it some more.  It applies to our farm life also.  It applies to everything!

I don’t like to be normal, I enjoy being the black sheep.  I think out of the box.  Or try to anyways.  I try to think of a name that is not the norm, but still represents what I want it to.

Fruits of Galatia is what I came up with. Personally, I love it.  And with my kids being in 4-H, we’ll have our farm name posted at the fairs.  I am hoping that someone will ask us what our name is about.  I plan on having the kids memorize this verse to tell people if they are ever asked.

An Average Day

I try to wake up between 6-7am.  If I sleep in too late, my hen Giggles, will start clucking to let me know.  (She is currently living in a plastic tub in the house because of her injured leg.)  I like to start my day early without any other interruptions.  Well, from people at least.  Before I even get out of bed I have anywhere from 1-3 of our five cats waiting in the bedroom for me to get up and feed them.  After I get up, they are all circling me and meowing, it takes some time to get to the laundry room to feed those ravenous little felines.

The first thing I do is turn the heater on where the kids sleep, walk into the living room and turn on my electric blanket and the heater in there and then take care of the animals.  Into the kitchen I stroll to turn on the burner, fill my pot with water, and get my coffee ready.  It takes only a few moments for my coffee to be prepared in my French Press, and I’m ready to head into the living room to enjoy my warm blanket.

Some mornings, I feed the chickens and ducks outside while I am waiting the 4 minutes for my coffee to brew.  Other mornings I wait and let the kids feed when they get up.

I let Giggles out into the kitchen to eat and drink, before I sit down.  I gather my Kindle and my latest crochet project to listen to my Bible, read my studies and cuddle with my blanket in the recliner.

After my studies are through and Giggles is done eating, I put her back and I can check in with my email and facebook.

Later mornings the kids do their schoolwork.  At this time I have been catching up on orders that I got behind with when I was working at the Washington State Fair, and I haven’t been doing Science or History with them.  But their English, math, and reading their daily devotions get done.

I spend many  hours of my day crocheting.  It’s my only source of income at the moment and it’s not a very good one at that.  But it sure does keep me busy!

I don’t get lots of time for  housework around here, but I have to try and squeeze in what I can when I can.  Daily chores include dishes and laundry.  Any errands that need to be run is also my responsibility.

Evenings are spent crocheting and online.  Sometimes I can find the time to read, play with graphics or edit my photos.

My days are busy and long.  But there is never enough time or energy to get done all that I’d like to.

If I Won the Lottery

This is an easy one for me.  I’d buy us more land and a house.  Then money would then go into our property and home to give us what we need to survive on our own.  We would have animals to eat, and animals to use for other resources.  We’d have room for a garden and grow the foods that we like to eat to live off of.  If I had enough, I would also have solar panels installed.  Then, I would get the door on my van fixed.

Another November Challenge

Soooo…maybe I’m a little addicted to challenges right now.  Maybe it’s just helping to give me a path to follow.

This challenge will be one that I can do with no words.  Unless I want words.

It’s a photo challenge.  Done by FAT MUM SLIM.

NOVEMBER-PHOTO-A-DAY1And yes, I realize that I am behind.  That may not bother some of you, but it does bother me.  So I’ll be catching up little by little.

Today I can post for the following with the photos that I took on the family’s outing:

Pet Peeves

Fake people who nurture fake friendships; Yarn that is impossible to find the correct end to use; When people tell you all about a movie or a book before you’ve had the chance to read or watch them yourself; Leaving pets in the car, at any time of year; Coffee that is made too weak; Brownies with peanuts in them; Hypocrites

There’s probably more, but I don’t really feel like focusing on the negatives at the moment.

e9953ed284d7a20a2daa57a1e96bdbc7Ways to Win My Heart

  • Listening to me.  I feel like I am strong for all of these people around me, sometimes I just need someone to lean on.  Someone to talk to and unload my worries.
  • Buy me food!  lol  Filling my gut and treating my taste buds to something nummy always wins with me!
  • Be honest with me.  I don’t like fake friendships, they are a waste of time.  Anytime you are dishonest with someone, the relationship is fake.
  • Take an interest in my children.  They are my babies and you know all moms like to show off and brag about their babies.
  • Worship the Lord.  Some of my favorite girl times have been times with my girlfriends that were Christians.  One of my very very favorite times was spending time with my Anita Fajita at the Women of Faith Conference a couple of years ago.  Praising Jesus with someone is always a way into a Christian’s heart.  It brings everyone closer together.
  • Don’t judge.  Even though we may be different, have different views, raise our children in different ways, we need to be respectful to each other.
